Was listening to Max Keiser on karmabanqueradio.com and he made a comment about Nana Mouskouri … hey I remember Nana Mouskouri albums around the house when I was a tiny kid.

Nana Mouskouri

It got me traveling down Memory Lane and here are some of my favourite picks from the olden days. My parents had a siiiick reel-to-reel tape deck & big fancy custom-doodle speakers from my Dad’s bachelor days (Mom made him get rid of the Jag, but I digress) – here are a few golden-oldies from my childhood and I’m throwing in the Leon Russel just because it seems to belong with the rest:

Harry Belafonte

Nat King Cole

Lena Horne – this is such a crazy video!

Gabor Szabo

Marty Robbins (Dad claimed this was shite and his brother had given him the album – but I listened to it over and over again)

Talbot Brothers (This is a different band, but totally reminds me of my Mom’s little portable turntable and Talbot Brothers Bermudian calypso music
albums!)

Leon Russell (just discovered this song in the summer of 2008, thanks, Rob! This would have blended in with my parents’
collection
